Our Team
Shamim Shakibai, MD is an entrepreneur, educator and healthcare consultant with over 10 years experience in preoperative care. His diverse expertise and passion for improving healthcare systems make him a respected and influential figure in the medical community.
Dr. Shakibai started his entrepreneurial career as a co-founder and CMO of Platinum Medical Group, a private hospitalist group in Los Angeles. Through his leadership, Platinum Medical Group expanded to 25 physicians across 4 hospitals and numerous skilled facilities, which led to a successful acquisition by Sound Physicians in 2020.
In 2023, Dr. Shakibai co-founded MyPreOp, Inc. As co-founder and CEO, he is transforming the process of pre-operative medical evaluations, adding structure and standardization by utilizing telemedicine and at-home testing methods.
Dr. Shakibai has over 10 years of clinical experience with preoperative care. He earned his medical degree from University of California, Davis - School of Medicine. Since 2009, Dr. Shakibai has been serving at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he completed his internal medicine residency. He launched Priventa Health, a non-profit entity dedicated to enhancing primary care access in Latin America. In addition to his entrepreneurship, Dr. Shakibai has authored medical articles, teaches internal medicine residents, and speaks Persian and Spanish. He enjoys hiking with his dog, Johnson.
Dr. Joshua Lewis
COO/Co-Founder
Joshua Lewis, MD is a physician, entrepreneur, and consultant, adept at merging his medical expertise and entrepreneurial acumen to drive innovative healthcare solutions.
Dr. Lewis founded JFL Medical, a startup that provides medical consulting for film and
TV. He also serves as Medical Director and Chief Hospitalist for Sound Physicians at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
As the co-founder and COO of MyPreOp, Inc., Dr. Lewis is establishing a standardized system for pre-operative medical evaluations by incorporating telemedicine and at-home testing techniques.
Dr. Lewis has over 10 years of clinical experience with preoperative care. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (cum laude) from St. George’s University and since completing his internal medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center he has stayed on as an attending physician on staff.

Adrian's multifaceted background lends itself to out-of-the-box problem solving and the ability to connect with people across cultural, generational, and socio-economic divides. When she isn’t contributing her administrative expertise to the job at hand, she can be found contributing her voice to various jazz venues across California.
Adrian earned her BA in International/Global Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She speaks Spanish and a smattering of Arabic.
